The City Transformed

Another rare snow event in Georgia. Several inches fell, cloaking trees, lawns, everything in white velvet. Bicyclists rode home carefully, or just walked their bikes.
Car traffic became horribly snarled as the white stuff started to fall, then disappeared as the storm progressed. Everything looked strange and beautiful.

  1. Amazing how a few inches of snow can transform any landscape into something so magical appearing.

  2. This collection of photos tells a great story of the snowy city. Snow in the South is always fun, like a holiday.

  4. I was wondering if I would find rain so fascinating if it only came so rarely as snow. I lived one year in Maryland but grew up in Texas and never really saw snow til I moved to Tennessee. Now that I live in Kentucky and have witnessed descent amounts of snow I can't stop being fascinated but I def have a higher standard for what I consider a good snow now.

  5. I'm sure people who live in the desert get all excited about a good long rainstorm. And when I lived in places that had 4 or 5 solid months of winter, that first spring rain was always so magical. Now I try to be an equal opportunity weather appreciator.
